Easter eggs

What  is Easter?
People have different beliefs about Easter. Some people think it is about bunnies, easter eggs, food, when Jesus Christ was resurrected and some people don’t celebrate it.

Easter eggs
Egyptians and Persians believe that the whole word came out of an egg. They painted the eggs with spring colours. The first Easter egg was made in Germany.

Easter Sunday
Christians believe that Jesus died and came back to life. He died on Easter Friday and came back on Easter Sunday.

Whitebait

My group has been reading about Whitebait. Whitebait are little fish that you can eat. Here is how they start as an egg and turn into whitebait and then a big long fish.

Yr 5 and 6 had a camp.

Last week the Yr 5 and 6 had a camp. My group was called the Honest Squad. I really liked to kayak. I know how to do the paddling strokes in time and do foot, bum, foot when you hope in the kayak.

We also liked cooking with Mrs Jarman. We made chocolate chip cookies. They were yum! What an exciting day.

When we played Top Town, Mr Jacobsen called it kill zone but you don’t die. Mr Jacobsen just called it that.  It was kind of like a race. My group the Honest Squad versed the All Stars. We lost. They sang a team chant after they won.

On the last night of camp we had a concert in the hall. All the teams had a dance. It was so fun.

On Friday we went swimming at Mangere Pools and jumped in the freezing cold water. There were two slides and a bombing pool but I did not go on it because it was deep.

I wish that camp never finished. I can’t wait to go back next year!
